The crime of money laundering, which has been in existence for half a century, is now growing increasingly serious, threatening to become a malignant tumor spreading across the globe. Consequently, this crime has become the focal issue in the area of the international criminal judicature, arousing considerable concern from the international community. This is manifested in the rapid changes in the norms of international criminal law regarding money laundering. The present paper, based on extensive reference to a large amount of legal documents , particularly the revised"Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China"and some relevant international conventions and foreign legislation, adopts an approach of contrastive analysis which treats of money laundering in terms of its origin, definition and process through a discussion of China's present law against money laundering and some key conceptual constituents, especially through a comparison with"The United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances".In conclusion, the paper points out the inadequacies of China's legislation and offers the author's theoretical proof and conception regarding the perfection of China's legislation on the crime of money laundering.
