| This paper is to study the development of justice systems in classical Athens in 499 - 399 BC to disclose the rule of it and get valuable learning from it. The sources of the study in law in western world should be traced to Athens meanwhile the sources of the study in philosophy, political science, economics and literature in western world should be traced to Athens. However, the study of Greek law had been not thought much of by national scholars, especially for the development of justice systems in classical Athens. Actually, they may be traced to the study of classical Athens for the study of the original of equity law in the common law, the division between public law and private law in the civil law, jury discussion and judicial debate.This paper is to study mainly the justice systems in classical Athens based on the actuality of the study about Athenian law in China and limiting factor of length in the paper. The introduction of the paper is to study the actuality of the study about Athenian law in China. The author argues, for one thing, it is almost enough to the theory of Athenian law in China especially for the theory of the natural law so that it doesn't worth studying again; for another thing, because it is complicated to study material Athenian law ,what is more ,most of Athenian law are unwritten law, it is convenient to bring forth the panorama and inherent spirit of Athenian law by studying the development of justice systems in classical Athens. Besides, the introduction also defined the concept of justice systems and introduced contribute of the paper when the paper also describes the actuality of the same study in the nation as well the correlative study in the western world.The first part of the paper focuses on the evolvement of justice systems in classical Athens。It contains three chapters such as polity and justice systems in classical Athens,justice systems in the period of Athenian polis,justice systems in the period of Athens empire.
