Evaluation Of Comprehensive Efficiency Of Logistics Enterprise Based On DEA Models

From 1990s, logistics industry in China has changed a lot. Many companies are trying to transform from traditional logistics enterprises to modern ones. As it is known that the basis of our logistics industry is thin, and the development is rather slower than developed countries. In addition, we will open domestic market after entering WTO year by year. Facing the serious situation, some problems have appeared such as lower utilization of enterprise resources and improper proportion between input and output. Therefore, how to change the situation and elevate the competitiveness of logistics enterprises have become mutual significant issues for all the managers of logistics enterprises.In the thesis, the C~2R model and improved C~2GS~2 model are applied to evaluate comprehensive efficiency of logistics enterprises and the process is implemented by a series of softwares such as SPSS10.0, MATLAB6.5 and LIND06.1. In the dissertation, some main work are done as follows:(1) Evaluation indexes system of comprehensive efficiency of logistics enterprise is built here. The appraisal system includes transportation subsystem, storing subsystem, information subsystem and human resources subsystem, which can reflects the whole information of logistics enterprises.(2) By computing the total efficiency of every logistics enterprise, the whole condition of operating system is obtained. From the results, we can see that 58 percents of the 12 logistics enterprises have achieved totally efficient status, while there are still some enterprises, which exit lower efficiency and resources extravagance.(3) Returns to scale and projection analysis of every logistics enterprise are made in the thesis. After that, some main problems in the aspects of input and output are pointed out. The analytical results will provide guidance for the administrators to adjust the scales and to improve management levels.(4) The technical efficiency of each enterprise is acquired by the model of technical efficiency based on input and output, and these enterprises are reordered according to corresponding technical efficiency. At last, correlation analysis, regression analysis and sensitive analysis are made to the factors affecting technical efficiency. Some key factors are pointed out and will offer the administrators of logistics enterprises more management information.The study not only reaches the aim of evaluating the comprehensive efficiency of logistics enterprises, but also further proves the scientific nature and reasonability of DEA models in evaluating comprehensive efficiency of logistics enterprise. The thesis will offer reference for other enterprise in efficiency evaluation.
