| With more than 20 years of high-speed development, Guizhou has made a great progress in economy However, due to the different qualifications such as natural conditions,inherent economic foundations and political priorities, the economic difference between Guizhou and some areas along the coast of China are increasingly obvious,those have been marked disequilibria exist in many aspects of regional economy.China's accession to the WTO, the implementation of CEPA (The Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement between Hong Kong and the Mainland), and the anticipated establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone, have promoted the regional co-operation in Pan-Pearl River Delta(Pan-PRD ). The Pan-PRD region that encompasses Hong Kong, Macau and nine mainland provinces/autonomous regions, also known as "9+2", will cooperate more extensively and closely in infrastructure, trade, industry, investment and other areas after the signing of the Pan-PRD Regional Cooperation Framework Agreement.The Pan-PRD regional co-operation creates great opportunities for Guizhou to reduce the gap and promote the economic development. How to take the unique advantages of Guizhou and achieve the coordinated development of the regional economy have attracted more and more attention.Firstly,the paper reviews the various regional economic theories systemically.The theoretical models of regional co-operation are elaborated.The model of European Union's regional co-operation is introduced.Then,based on the principles of regional economy,the paper constructs an indexes system to evaluate the development of Pan-PRD,summarizes those indexes and finds three different gradients in Pan-PRD through principal component analysis and linear regression analysis.lt turns out that Guangdong is at the first gradient in the Pan-PRD region and Guizhou at the third gradient.The paper analyzes the countermeasures and puts forward the principles and... |
