Information Disclosure About National People's Congress Representative Candidates In Direct Election

The voting right and the right to be elected are China's basic political rights of citizens, and knowing the candidate information is an important prerequisite for the majority of voters to vote effectively. In the direct election, to open the information of National People's Congress representative candidates provides an open platform for fair competition, giving voters an understanding and supervising opportunity to candidates.Since 1953 Electoral law to make with multiple modifications makes our country's National People's Congress direct election system in democratic, scientific, operational aspects of great development, but some problems are still exposed in election practice. From promoting democratic political construction, safeguarding the voter's right to know and selecting qualified deputy for the National People's congress, the article elaborates the significance of the candidate information disclosure; from the point of legislation, the article reviews the candidate information disclosure on the development process in election law since 1953.Then from the main body, content, form, procedure, the article summaries the present situation of the candidate public information in four aspects and give some suggestions aiming at some shortcomings of the candidate public information during the election practice, such as:the diversification of public, the enrichment of the open content, the diversification of the open forms, the scientific program. Finally, the article proposed safeguards from the improvement of supervision system, the introduction of candidates for elimination mechanism and the eligibility of candidates.In summary, on the basis of the background to develop election, this article is put the formulation and revision to the electoral law as an opportunity, linked with the election practice. The article is to improve the National People's Congress direct election system in the view of the information disclosure of direct elections. This is the need to elect high-quality representatives and an important measure to realize that the people are the masters.
