Trade unionism as the British trade union ideology and theory of the mid-nineteenth century, plays an important role in guiding the trade union development and movement. Especially when the British entered the prosperity of the mid-Victorian period, the trade unions under the influence of unionism, set off a "new model" of the wind. Because of its perfect union structure, full-time trade union cadres, a huge membership fees, broad membership base, New Model won union recognition. They make efforts to promote a new model of negotiation, arbitration, arbitration, instead of a strike to resolve labor conflicts; the government also actively reform the people's livelihood; capitalists are willing to come to share excess profits with workers and willing to negotiate with the trade unions, through the tripartite coordination mechanism the community as a whole shows a relatively harmonious coordination type of labor relations. The Victorian prosperity, the Government's policy adjustments, a positive response from trade unions are closely related. With the influence of unionism, unions have made to enhance the legal status, political democratization have walked a major step forward; unions actively create a wide range of non-political benefits to make up for the lack of state functions; unions gradually go toward politic, not only joining in the first international, but also especially in constructing Political parties.
