Many countrise have finished their domocratization in The Third Wave of the later part of 20th century. Yet some of them get back to autocracy after a short time of democray.This trend have strongly promoted the theoretical research of democracy,democratizationa and democratic consolidation,and their research results provide us the theoretical foundation in research of The Third Wave countrise.Further more, a more thoroughly lucubrate in The Third Wave countrise will be conducive to the domocratization and democratic consolidation all over the world.Philippines is the first country that built a democray system in Asia,and once acclaimed as the showcase of Asian democary.The history of democratization in Philippines can be divided into two part:the first was transplanted by America and this was ended by the Marcos autocracy;the second was lounched by Filipino voluntarily after 1986,it overthrown the Marcos autocracy and built a new democray system in peace.In this paper,the author will analyse the democratization after 1986 by analyse the following factors:the reduce of legality in autocracy system,the development of economy and the grow of middle class,the Catholic Church in Philippines and the change of American policy.Than,the author will analyse the democratic consolidation of Philippines by analyse the following factors:the way by which Philippines finished democratization,the experience of democracy that Philippines have before 1986,the social and cultural traditions which shape political parties and elections in Philippines,and the last,the development of economy.As there have several similarities in social and cultural traditions between Philippines and other Southeast Asia countrise, a more thoroughly lucubrate in the democratization and the democratic consolidation in Philippines will be conducive to the research of democray in Southeast Asia.
