A Comparative Study Of Hui's Status In Henan And Guangxi

The Hui is the important member of the great family of 56 nationalities, whose population presents "Big range dispersion and Small range inhabit",ranks fourth after Han,Zhuang and manchu.The dispersed and mixed population accounts for more than half of the population of hui nationality.The research to the Hui dispersed and mixed areas is helpful for rich understanding of the hui nationality, deepen their other scattered areas of hui ethnic knowledge.There is a reference significance for hui scattered exploring their own development path and for government help or guide them to accelerate the economic development and social progress under the new situation.At present,the research on hui focuses on that living in the northwest,and the breadth and depth on other areas is incomparable with it.It goes against the development of hui. The reserch on hui in dispersed and mixed areas should be gain respect. We should increase research efforts to suit the national work in dispersed and mixed areas. Henan and guangxi are dispersed and mixed areas for hui. Henan is located in the central area,and guangxi is the southwest.The central region has a long history, especially the henan in which Hui ancestors lived in Tang and song dynasties.Now it is the one which have a bigger the hui nationality population in all the provinces,and form its unique rich national culture in the long-term development process.The southwest region is known as the main areas inhabited by ethnic minorities,in which less hui live but who form a unique culture.The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have the biggist minority population and is the one of autonomous region has more ethnic composition.Although the hui population is less, but present different characteristics other areas.According to my circumstance, I choose henan hui and guangxi hui as the research object. Through on-the-spot investigation,I use marxist ethnic theory, ethnology and other related discipline knowledge and analyze the current difference and convergence of the two provinces hui comprehensively, and analyze the deep reasons, and its enlightenment to national work in dispersed and mixed areas On the basis of research. This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction, mainly describes the reasons and its significance, the topic of academic research status, research methods and the innovation and the insufficiency.The second part explores the history of the two provinces, and make comparison and analysis from the ways and time that nationality ancestors moved into two provinces,and the formation and influence of the distribution pattern etc..The third part describes the population distribution, education, economic activity, culture, religious belief and customs of the hui nationality in the two provinces,and make comparison and analysis the differences and similarities and its reasons from the status, and point out that they have a gap in population but similar distribution pattern, a different but successful economic development path, a similar streams cultural education whose quality need to be improved, a different degree in religious belief which presents a variation trend,and a distinctive customs.The fourth part makes an analysis for the reasons of differences and change characteristics to convergence, and points out the enlightenment to national work in dispersed and mixed areas of hui nationality.
