The United Republic of Tanzania gained independence in 1961 and established diplomatic relations with China in 1964, which was one of the earliest African countries to establish diplomatic ties with China. Tanzania has a very good environment for investment, whose political situation is stable, natural resource is abundant, inflation is low for a long term and the exchange rate is stable too. With the sustained development of the economy of Tanzania and the expanding of the overseas markets of China, the investment of China in Tanzania was accordingly increasing. From the sixties of last century when Chinese government helped Tanzania to build the Friendship Textile Limited Company to now, besides the national investment, the individual investment in Tanzania also showed the increasing trend. However due to the different history between Tanzania and China, the concept and the regulations of labour laws were quite different. From the beginning of 19th century, Tanzania experienced the colonial rule of Britain for more than 40 years and inherited a large number of British legal traditions. The basic contents of Tanzania labour law and Chinese labour law, including the application, the fundamental rights and protections, employment standards, organizational rights, strikes and lockouts were all different, which was difficult for Chinese enterprises to learn Tanzania labour law. Therefore in the Chinese enterprises in Tanzania, labour issue was an important factor affecting the development of enterprises.By studying the labour law of Tanzania and investigating the relations between the labour and the enterprise in Chinese enterprises, such as the Friendship Textile Limited Company and China State Farms Agribusiness Corp., this thesis truly reflects the labour disputes and the solutions in these enterprises. At the same time, the author proposes the countermeasures for avoiding the labour disputes in Chinese enterprises with the hope that it can supply a reference for more and more Chinese enterprises and help the better implement of Tanzania labour law in Chinese enterprises.
