Research On The Disparity Of Nanjing Resident Income

How to deal with the problem of income inequality polarizing and push the comprehensive and balanced development of human beings and economy society is a very important social and political issue should be highly attended in the way of economy society developing. As one of the economy evaluation guidelines stipulated by UN, Gini coefficient, based on Lorenz curve is a statistics method in common use. It can fully evaluate the resident income inequality situation of a country or specific territory. Thanks to ?Statistical Yearbook of Nanjing?(1991 to 2004), This article qualitative analyses the problems of Nanjing resident income distribution from qualitative and quantitative,discuss the main factors which have influenced on the Nanjing residents' income inequality and forecast the changing of Nanjing resident income distribution in the following years, also I try to give my own opinions and suggestions on the hot problem about income distribution. Based on the evaluation of current distribution difference of Nanjing residents' income, this article put forward some countermeasures. The conclusion shows Gini coefficient of Nanjing is keep on rising annually. That for year 2003 is 0.403, which already exceed the alert line of 0.400. The trend of resident income inequality polarizing is obvious. This must be regarded as a serious problem to decision-making organizations, authority government bureaus and all the other people concerned. This paper presents the following innovation: 1.This paper compartmentalize the colony of Nanjing resident income, and use Gini coefficient to analyze the variation of income gap among Nanjing residents during 1991 to 2003 through positivism method. This article analyses the gap of income between urban and rural residents in Nanjing and reflects the practical gap of income between urban and rural residents is far excess to usual calculation method, then obtain the conclusion: the gap of income between urban and rural residents is 1.575 times to the results by usual calculation method if we take the urban residents' welfare and rural residents' producing costs into account . 2. This article research the reason that influence on the Nanjing residents' income gap by multiple variable regression analysis, the result shows the first high correlativity is the gap of income between urban and rural residents, the second is the rate of unemployment. 3. This article forecast the tendency of Nanjing residents' income gap in the following years using GM(1,1) model integrating the qualitative analyses. 4. Based on the detailed forecasting values from qualitative and quantitative analysis, this paper put forward some countermeasures on how to collocate social resource and social welfare rationally and how to improve the Nanjing residents' income distribution to build a harmonious society.
