International Comparison Of Cotton Subsidy And Competitiveness Of T&A Industry

During Doha Round Negotiations, agricultural subsidy caught people's attention. Subsidizing approaches and supportive degree of cotton subsidies are various in different nations, which cause so many arguments and disagreement. After textile quota removal, as one of the main raw materials to T&A industry, it's a topic worth of discussion that what change will take place to cotton demand and supply, and whether China's cotton policy is fit to the dynamic changing situation.Textile quota removal promotes trade freedom of global T&A industry. As a big production and consumer of T&A goods, how China strengthens its position and enhances its T&A industry's competitiveness during the integration process of T&A industry becomes a meaningful topic to study.Chapter 1 of this article introduces general description on agricultural subsidy and focuses on its impacts and reasons for existence.
