The IC Enterprises Growth Appraisal Based On Industrial Cluster Theory

The IC industry is the foundation of a nation's high-tech industry development. It has very important strategic significance to the nation's economic development and it is an industry which various countries develop emphatically in the course of national economic development in recent years. In our country the IC industry has got the government's energetically support, very favorable tax policies and foreign trade policies have been made by the government. It becomes the industry that the local government lays particular emphasis on while setting up the high technology park. The traditional enterprises growth theories have explained the growth of enterprises from different respects. While as a kind of high-tech enterprise, its presence is only decades, its growth demonstrates some characteristics different from traditional enterprises.Based on the particularity demonstrated in the course of IC enterprises' growth, this paper summarizes the traditional enterprise growth theory and discusses the cluster's promotion function to the enterprises' growth and established a set of enterprises growth appraisal index system. In the positivism analysis part, the paper analyze the IC enterprises' growth of year 2003 in Taiwan Hsinchu Science Park and on the other hand analyzed the production factor and demand condition's contribution to the enterprises' growth in order to reveal the growth mechanism of IC enterprises inside the cluster.This paper firstly excavates the definition and intension of the enterprises growth. Then it analyzes the formation mechanism of industry's cluster and the cluster's influence on enterprises growth. On the basis of the theory analysis, this paper established a set of enterprises growth appraisal indices system using the main component analysis method. At last, the paper takes Hsinchu Science Park as an example to analyze the IC enterprises' growth in the park and then puts forward the conclusion.
