The Research On Technology Value In The Sight Of Sustainable Development

Research on technology value in the sight of sustainable development is a necessary and urgent task. Technology value refers to the effect which technology acts on sustainable development of the society. Technology value is two-edged. The rapid development of technology is not only one of the necessary conditions that ensure the sustainable development of society, but also one of the important factors that the sustainable development of society is threatened. We must properly control the direction of technology development so that technology can be propitious to the sustainable development, or we will be destroyed by the technology we have created.In order to control technology, we must analyze how the technology value is realized from the point of epistemology. Technology activities are processes that technology value is discovered, created and realized. Technology value has two sources: one is the creative activity of human being; the other is the order of nature. The idea on value of society, the skill society has accumulated in the practice and the extent that human being knows about the order of nature is the key factors that technology value is discovered, created and realized.Technology assessment is the basic condition to control technology activities. Whether we can evaluate technology value objectively, fairly and scientifically in time or not is a key link whether technology can support the sustainable development. The final target that technology activities want to pursue is the sustainable development of society. When we try to control the technology value activity, we must aim at the sustainable development of society, combine it with the behavior characteristic of technology actor and establish a rational social criterion system. The system can be used to control technology actors so that the support of technology to the sustainable development of society can be realized finally.This thesis analyses the realization process of the technology value, discusses the man's effect on the creation process of technology value and elucidates the sources of the technology value. It also simply discusses the mechanism of technology assessment and the social control of the technology value creation. This theoretic discussion is significative to the government's constituting strategy of technology development, technology policy, technology laws and to forming a good technology ethic criterion.
