A Study On Development Strategy Of Baoding Banknote Paper Mill

This article is written in study of development strategy of Baoding Banknote Paper Mill (BBPM).BBPM, set up in 1956, is the first banknote mill of new China and a large-scale enterprise which subordinated to China Banknote Printing & Minting Corp (CBPMC). The main tasks of BBPM include the banknote paper production and the R&D of new techniques, new material of banknote paper. Besides banknote paper, BBPM can also product high grade security paper, engineering paper and other papers. BBPM is also the largest manufacturer of banknote paper all over the country. It has a splendid history, and now it is in relatively good status. But there are some problems affecting its development. This article describes the development strategy planning of BBPM just in this condition.The main results of the study are core competitive advantages, mission, objectives, business units and strategy, developing strategy, and strategy implementing. And methods of the study showed as follows:Firstly get questions regarding to strategy from the cases of BBPM. Secondly make SWOT analysis about external environment, industries background, internal resources and competence, then sum up core competitive advantages. And after analysis of stock-holders of BBPM, we get the mission of BBPM.We summarize SWOT and using degree and transferring degree of BBPM's resources, then get its business units: banknote paper, special paper and security paper. And identify competing strategy in every SBU; Getting BBPM's objectives in five years, and the general strategy to realize it.At last, according to new strategy, we adjust BBPM's organization structure. The main method is set up a new corporation, "Baochao holding co.", to operate diversity of the factory.
