Traditional organization model of new product development (herein after called NPD) is based on Adam Smith's work dividing theory and Taylor's scientific management. It is difficult to have a good new product performance result in this kind of organization. Theoretically, experts have provided many solutions of establishing the matrix organization. Some companies has started to practice the matrix organization in their new product developmentThe author provided a question as why some organizations can result in a better new product performance than others? It seems that not only just the reason of organization structure. We focus on the organizational factors that make influence on new product development. Good organizational factor means the company has a sensitive and quick response to new product potential opportunity. Bad organizational factor means the company resistance to the new product. Understanding the organizational factors will make management personnel realize the difficulties of their new product development project and take correct actions on it.This article discussed the organizational factors including organizational structure, organization culture & history, internal politics tendency, organization learning model and compensation system.The author makes some studies on the models of new product development organization and believes that team style new product development model is the optimum model, company as a whole should take major responsibility for this model change. At the same time, organization's leadership model, team communication model, organization structure, individual behavior model should be changed over respectively.The article breakthrough the limitation of organization structure and deeply study more areas of organizational factors influencing the new product developmentperformance. Trying to find a best model of organizing the new product development process. First time provide the concept of new product development organizational factors. Will be both theoretically and realistically helpful to manufacturing companies' new product development management for their new market competition.
