China Unicom is a new and increasing telecommunication company with only eight years history. But by the end of strategic reform and reunion of Chinese telecommunication industry, the telecommunication corporations will face fiercer competition, and as China entry into the WTO, Chinese communication industry and market must be opening up more, so It is the important research subject for China Unicom how to seize the opportunity of the exterior environment and utilize the strength of the interior resources to set the development strategy and join the competition and cooperation with business partners in a brand new way .Based upon the wide references of the scientific theory of Game Theory, the new concept of modern competition and cooperation, the thesis sets the strategy of China Unicom as it's object of study, analyses the telecommunication industry construction, elements affects intensity of competition, competition and cooperation development trends for telecommunication industry and opportunity and challenges faced by China Unicom, utilizes the methods of PEST Model ,AHP method,SWOT Analysis and BCG Matrix Analysis, studies the interior and exterior environment of the corporation and forecast the future development of the Chinese telecommunication industry. Finally, in order to run the strategy perfectly, the thesis implements the management and evaluation of the strategy by means of Balance Scorecard.
