The pipeline operation is a way of production organization with high-efficiency. The production capacity of each operation (station) must be balanced in order to make the most efficacy of the pipelining, in other words, the pipeline must be attained equalization. This paper has recounted pipeline balance, man-hour quota theory, relational theory and method. In view of the problem on lack of production capacity with 4G1 engine assembling and testing line in HDMC, the paper finds out its primary reason - unbalanced operation cycle through analyzing the present state of production and management on 4G1 engine assembly line. By steps and methods of assembly line balance, the paper assesses the practical production capacity of each operation through checking the operating time and working out man-hour quota. Then, on the basis of the assessment, we could adjust operation content in accordance with the principle of balancing operation cycle, and enhance worker s operation skill, improve production organization, therefore, we could enable every operation cycle of 4Glengine assembling and testing line to reach unanimity, thus increasing the production capacity of the line greatly, and laying a solid foundation for good economic benefits of the company.This paper thoroughly analyzes and researches the problem on the unbalance of 4G1 engine assembling and testing operation cycle by using the method of element analysis and ration measure. During actualizing 4G1 engine assembling and testing balancing operation cycle, the paper brings forward a new method and step about solving the problem of assembly line balance. The method can not only played the important direction role to enhance the product efficiency of the existing product line but also has a certain referenced value to design a new product line.
