International direct investment's influence to the developing countries' economic increasing is a very important question in history field. Through researching American direct investment to Southeast Asian countries, the author has found American direct investment's particular effect on Southeast Asian's economic improvement. It altered Southeast countries' export pattern, meliorated their structure of industry, increased the GDP, and successfully realized the economic increasing. However, extensive direct investment caused Southeast Asian countries' trade greatly depend on United States. Additionally, because of American's capital outflow, it destroyed Southeast countries' balance of payment, and pricked up Southeast countries' economic turbulence.This paper gives us a evidence about the direct investment's effect to developing countries. Through this case, we can see a integrity course of a developed country' direct investment in a developing country, help us know the role of foreign direct investment to the developing countries' modernization. And then, we hope to give some reference to Chinese utilization foreign direct investment.
