By investigating two mainstream thoughts, neo-realistic and neo-liberalistic theory, on the international relations, this paper points out that the main divergence between these two thoughts lies in their specific attitudes towards the international politics. This attitude may be optimistic or pessimistic. In the view of empirical analysis, the paper criticizes the misleading and confusing conclusions that may be caused by the divergence. At the same time, the platform which the developments of the scientific philosophy and western analytical thinking mode depend on is the ultimate reason of the theoretical state. Then in the view of culture philosophy, this paper tries to compare Chinese traditional integrated thinking mode and the western analytical thinking mode. Finally, the paper suggests we rebuild the international relation theory with the Chinese traditional integrated thinking mode, so that our objective of constructing international theory with Chinese flavor will come to be true.
