The Research On Party Headquarters Of Kuomintang

Local organization of Kuomintang including provincial headquarters and junior organization is a weak part in the research of the history of KMT. But it is also a key to study the reign status of KMT. In this paper, on the base of the study of center orientation of provincial headquarters as a case, the author studied the party headquarters of KMT in Hubei province(1927-1938). From organization, training and propaganda of Hubei, the author drew the outline of a provincial headquarters' social role in local society in detail. And all these can help us in exploring characters of KMT's basic reign and understanding the meanings of KMT Regime. The article holds that in 1930s provincial party headquarters of KMT among which Hubei was the representative mainly had the following characters and trends: controlled by army, more cooperation with government and centralization. When the Anti-Japanese war broke out, the characters and trends above became more obvious. These characters represented the mainstream in the following development of KMT. And they exerted great influence both on the reign of KMT and party government system in modern China.
