The development of industrialization and modernized agriculture not only brings and provides people with a great deal of physical wealth, but also brings on many serious problems such as resource degradation and depletion and environmental pollution. When cooking, people may encounter noxious rice; when eating meat, people may meet clenobuterol hydrochloride; when buy vegetable, we may cross pesticide vegetable and etc. When it comes to food safety, people may be anxiety-ridden. It cannot be neglected that the problem of food safety has affected the subsistence and development of human severely. Thus, the sustainable development is the prerequisite road for the economy and society in the future and the green food industry is a burgeoning arisen industry after the sustainable development was put forward. The green food is a free from pollution safety, superior quality, nourishment food to follow to can keep on developing principle, produce according to the particular mode of production, was affirmed by specialized organization. The aim to develop the green food industry and produce the green food is to promote the quality of agriculture and processed products, to advance the consumption safety , to enhance the human health, to protect and ameliorate ecological environment and to realize the sustainable development of society and economy in city and rural. Nowadays, the category of food industry is not limited only in the range of the food production and procession, but also includes all aspects of the effects of the industry development on resources, environment, economy and society. Only the foods yielded by undefiled means of production in spotless land are more competitive and can satisfy the consumption needs more greatly. Thus, to develop and research the green food is imperative under the situation.On May 15,1990, China claimed to develop green food industry and enlisted it into "China's Agenda 21". For about ten years, China has built a whole distance quantity control, from land to table, to the products, which is beneficial to increase the additional value of agriculture products, to enhance the product quality and safety. Meanwhile, China' entry into WTO will greatly ameliorate the international trade environment and decrease the custom barrier. However, foreign countries may restrict the export of common foods through green barrier. The organic-green food isa burgeoning representative food, is relatively less restricted by the green barrier. So, it's necessary to support the development of organic-green food industry.Based on the analysis of the development of green food in Xinjiang, this article paper elucidates the SWOT of green food industry in Xinjiang analyses the green food industry structure in Xinjiang according to the data provided by Xinjiang Green Food Development Center and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Green Food Development Center. The special-temporal analysis of green food enterprises, the quantity and typological analysis of products and the trend of development in Xinjiang green food industry are all illustrated in the paper. Moreover, some countermeasures and suggestions with accordance to the analysis of SWOT and industry structure are put forwards too.This article is divided into four part.: the first part explains the purpose and the significance; the second part illustrates the theory fruits in the study of green food industry in the international academe; the third part analyses the green food industry structure; and in the fourth part, some countermeasures for green food industry development in Xinjiang are set forth in the last.
