Sustainable Development Index System And Evaluation For Eco-city Of Zhengzhou

With the rapid process of urbanization, the sustainable development for eco-city is main way for the process of city development. According to the principle of combining quantifying analysis and nature analysis, the paper analyses the comprehensive evaluation method of urban sustainable development which aiming at evaluating the developing level of Zhengzhou and based on the present research on evaluation methods inside and outside of China. First of all, the treatise reviews the conception of eco-city, the development of process and correlated essence and character. A systematic conclusion of the research of sustainable development for eco-city of Zhengzhou is made based on the contents and mechanisms of urban sustainable development after reviewing the present research. Differences of location, economical environment and social environment of different cities are shown in the index system. At the same time the system also shows common characteristics of the cities. The index system framework of evaluating the ability of urban sustainable development is presented in design the index system of Zhengzhou eco-city sustainable development. Based on Zhengzhou's status quo, the index system is constructed from three point of views--entironment, economy and society. There are two methods –primary analyzing method and ecological footprints was introduced in evaluation of urban sustainable development. In primary analyzing method, two comprehensive evaluating coefficients of urban sustainable development is found: sustainability coefficient of urban sustainable development and coordination index of urban sustainable development. At the same time, ecological footprints is evaluated quantitatively from ecological productive. From review restrict factor of the environment, economy and society development, this treatise diagnoses the urban sustainable development.According to results of the above evaluation and consulting some other researchers' work, some suggestions on sustainable development of Zhengzhou are made in this paper. There are five approaches: strengthen town planning, construct and manage, consummate town system; developing city and town all, quicken the process of urbanization; optimizing industry frame, improving economy gross and benefit; mending city and area ecological structure, optimizing urban development environment and adjusting urban tract, advancing benefit of tract.
