With the development of the society, man has done a lot of harm to the environment and natural resources. Because of that, we have deteriorated the environment and shared a tense relationship with the resources. Among that, the water resource especially drinking water resource shortage and bad quality confines the development. The shortage and bad quality of drinking water causes the disease relevant it, serious influence pepole's life health and safety. There are some drinking water problems in our country in the procedure of modernization.In our country, we have set up laws of drinking water protection. Laws of dringing water protection havethe important uses and shortcomings.Its important uses includes its protection of the people's life safety,its protection of drinking water's safety,its hit on the breaking law action.It accumulates experice on legislation of law of drinking water protection.Its shortcomings are that the legislation is short of harmanization,scientific knowledge and democracy,it pays less attention to the groundwater resource,rural area's drinking water and natural pollution resources. What causes the shortcomings include the mistake of the odeology,it lacks the ensurancemechnism,theory,science and technology, the legislation procedure is not scientic. We should set up the scientic development theory as the ideology of law of drinking water protection and base the law on basic principles of drinking water. I suggest that we should set up a pefect law to protect the people's health and support the sustainable development.
