| Chinese ancient thinkers firmly insisted: people are water and emperor is ship. While the water can float the ship, it can also overturn the ship. The traditional human-oriented thought not only develops and maintains the spirit of constant strive for Chinese people, but also plays a vital role in economic development of thousands of years. Nowadays China is experiencing a great economic expansion. What is the status of traditional human-oriented thought among the Chinese? Whether this great thought still has value on enterprise manipulation? The main purpose of this research is to discuss the modem value of Chinese traditional human-oriented thought. By logical analysis of concretely constructive models, we find ways to create human-oriented organizations and consequently to promote the human-oriented management.This research coordinates and distills the "human-oriented " idea in Chinese traditional thinking, analyses and discusses the connotation of the "human-oriented" according to the descriptions of "the traits of human" and "the traditional human value", finds the focus of human-oriented thought is to satisfy individual person's needs. We define human-oriented idea on management as correctly recognizing the person's needs and satisfying reasonable needs during the process of recruitment, training and development, compensation, the relationship between employer and employee, insurance and safety. Through interviews with managers from 15 profit companies, We make up our questionnaire named 'The Modern Value of Human-oriented Thought", which contains 4 factors: "cognizing person", "caring person", "respecting person" and "developing person".The following is the main conclusions of this research:(1) We find that these 4 factors behave differently for different individual and organizational level: The female are more agreeable on human-oriented thought than the male. The more education people have, the more agreeable on the thought they are. Different positions also have remarkable impact. People with lower positions focus more on "caring person". Also different source of capital behaves differently on"caring person" and "cognizing person". Different foreign investment has different influence on human-oriented thought, with the sequence from great to least attention: the enterprises from European and American countries, the enterprises from eastern-Asia, and the local companies in China.(2) We confirm and analyze the great attention on human-oriented thought among Chinese.In the research of the impact of human-oriented thought on organizational effectiveness, we find "cognizing person" has the great positive impact on every factors of organizational effectiveness, and it has the greatest influence on them than others 3 "human-oriented" factors. "Caring person" has the great positive impact on organizational effectiveness in the following six aspects: "capability of stable control", "capability of reform adaptation", "system of informational communication", "cohesion and morale", "development on human resource", and "quality", and it has the least influences on "productivity and efficiency" and "getting the developmental resource". Besides, we find among all the control variables the "position" has the great negative impact on every factors of organizational effectiveness, the "capital character" and the "culture background" both have the great positive impact on organizational effectiveness in the following three aspects: "capability of stable control", "cohesion and morale" and "quality".The last not the least, we bring forward the human supposition: "human have inborn morality and logos ". By combining the practices on HR management of famous enterprises, we distill the operational methods of practicing the Chinese traditional human-oriented thought. Finally we discuss the relationship between the organizational culture and human-oriented thought. |
