Sub-saharan Africa has become the poorest district in the world. Its poverty doesn't benefit the development of African continent, the developing countries and the whole world. So how to realize the modernization in sub-saharan Africa is a very important issue. Nevertheless, the study on modernization in Africa is very narrow. For this reason, in the thesis, a study is carried out from the view of the time-sequence pattern of modernization. Author tries to make a comprehensive and strategical research and attempts to make a breakthrough in this field. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part is preface, the basic concepts of this paper are explained, such as time-sequence pattern of modernization and sub-saharan Africa. The new visual angle of study is orientated. In the second part, author investigates the time-sequence pattern of typically successful modernization of late development and external source. Common successful experiences have been got and a theory frame of analysis is set up. In part three, sub-saharan Africa's modernization is analyzed according to the second part's theory frame. Author points out the type, the time-sequence pattern and the serious consequences of modernization in sub-saharan Africa , then analyzes the reasons of failure . Finally, a speculation of new time-sequence pattern of modernization in sub-saharan Africa is put forward. The pattern-achievements as basis, economy's development as emphasis, advantageous international and domestic factors as support and deepening politics democratization as turning point-may be the best option. The characteristic of this thesis lies in three aspects. Firstly, the visual angle of study is the time-sequence pattern of modernization. Secondly, the conclusion of "four integrating whole" will be the optimum time-sequence pattern of modernization to sub-saharan Africa. Thirdly, methods used in the paper include induction, deduction, and concrete analysis of concrete conditions etc. based on historical materialism. |
