| Propaganda work is a vital component of all the work of the Communist Party of China. The propaganda front is a very important one of all the fronts led our Party. The propaganda team is a significant power of the leading teams of our Party. Putting great emphasis on propaganda work and bringing the potent power of propaganda into full play is a tradition, an advantage and an important historical experience of the Party. Leading the people of all ethnic groups, the third-generation leadership of the CPC with Jiang Zemin at the core has inherited and carried on the fine tradition, attached much importance to propaganda work, created constantly a brand-new situation in the propaganda work of the Party, and thus formed Jiang Zemin's Ideology on Propaganda, which is the application and development of the Marxist propaganda thought in modern China, a continuation and development of propaganda thought of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping. Jiang Zemin's Ideology on Propaganda is of great significance to innovating and developing propaganda work and propelling the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Under the guidance of the Marxist propaganda thought, with our eyes on the new circumstances of the developing times, the new practice, and on the basis of the research results that have been achieved concerning the field, the thesis gives an overall systematic summary of the accounts of Jiang Zemin about propaganda work in an attempt to form an integral and logical theoretical system of propaganda theories, thereby to expedite the practice of propaganda. The thesis consists of three parts.The first part studies the background and theoretical sources of the formation of Jiang Zemin's Ideology on Propaganda. In the present times, the international situation isundergoing dramatic historic changes while the domestic circumstances are experiencing profound transformation, and the Party itself is confronted with severe tests, against which Jiang Zwmin's Ideology on Propaganda is formed. The Marxist propaganda thought, the propaganda thought of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping and the fine fruits of traditional ethnic cultures constitute the theoretical origins of Jiang Zemin's Ideology on Propaganda. The second part, which is the core of the thesis, expounds the major contents and basic characteristics of Jiang Zemin's Ideology on Propaganda. This part gives a brief account of Jiang Zemin's Ideology on Propaganda in terms of the position, the roles, the policies, the principles, the tasks, the practices, the team, the leadership of propaganda and external propaganda, upon the basis of which we put forth that Jiang Zemin's Ideology on Propaganda is characterized by distinct qualities of the era, full practicality, high strategy, rich nationality, distinguished pragmatism and outstanding openness. The third part studies the theoretical values and practical meaning of Jiang Zemin's Ideology on Propaganda. Jiang Zemin's Ideology on Propaganda has inherited and carried forward the Marxist propaganda thought, enriched and developed the propaganda thought of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping, extended and refined the theoretical foundation of propaganda. It provides a theoretical weapon for doing theoretical research work in propaganda, a guideline for strengthening and improving the practice of propaganda and a theory guide for promoting the work of the Party. |
