Research On Small And Medium-Sized Enterprises Present Status And Development In China

With the superiority of flexible operation model, lower organization cost etc., small and medium-sized enterprises that spread all over industries are showing a flourishing development trend and becoming more and more important in today's world economy. Most countries in the world have paid special attention to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and have taken initiatives to create a good environment for them. Due to the influence of planning economic system, large-sized enterprises played an important role in national economy. Therefore, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises didn't be attached importance by government and society. In 1990s' the growth rate of China's economy was slow down shaken by Asian financial crisis. It induced the serious insufficiency of domestic demand, decrease of state-own enterprise benefit and a lot of worked laid off. However, with the characteristics such as solving employment, flexibility during operation and its organization style, the role of the small and medium-sized enterprises in national economy was outstanding gradually. Naturally, how to incentive the development of small and medium-sized enterprises under globalization situation already became an importance issue. Systematical research on this issue is not only a huge action for China's economic sustainable development but also has significance for reality.This thesis first analyze why there exist a great number of small and medium-sized enterprises and their present status, trying to reveal their roles and positions, In the meanwhile analyze the existing problem and difficulty in the development process of small and medium-sized enterprises. Then, based on the successful experience of foreign countries taking the China's status into account discuss the exterior and interior circumstances that are suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises to develop from legislation, institution, finance, service system, enterprise organization style, human resources management, marketing and innovation aspects, etc. Finally, combining economic status and national macro economic policies, analyze the developing tendency of small and medium-sized enterprises. The thesis project that small and medium-sized enterprises will be an necessary part in the national economy and play a more and more important role. In 21st century small and medium-sized enterprises will enter into a new phase, which will show some new characteristics and trend, i.e. exporting-typed economy forming; scale economy developing and competition capability increasing;brand and market becoming critical factors, organization style multiplying and modern enterprise system forming; cooperation between east, middle and west parts intensifying.
