Studies On The Construction And Development Of Small Cities And Towns

The construction and development of small cities and towns is an important part of conducting China's rural reform and realizing modernization,it is also a main force to raise the level of urbanization with China's own characteristics. Therefore,it plays a significant role to promote rural economic development,to transfer the surplus rural labor force and to increase farmers' income for the fast development of small cities and towns. Based on the analysis of the present situation of China's small cities and towns and taking the reference of the advanced experiences of foreign countries in developing the small cities and towns,this thesis puts forward the objectives,the moulds and strategy selection of the development of our countries' small cities and towns in order to realize the grand strategy China's rural economic and social developments,some new ways have been explored to build China's small cities and town systems.This thesis mainly covers five parts:The practical significance has been studied in the first part,which analyzed the research and development trends both at home and abroad,the social background,existing problems and restricted factors related to the construction and developments of our countries' small cities and towns have been analyzed at the same time.In the second part of this thesis,the definition,function,important role and the policies have been given,which points out the direction and methods in further developing China's small cities and towns.Based on the study of the moulds used by foreign countries in developing small cities and towns,some suggestions have been put forward in the third part of this paper,in which the emphasis has been pointed out in developing and constructing China's small cities and towns.In order to create favorite conditions to construct small cities and towns,the planning outlines and designing concept have been stated in the fourth part.In the last part,the enforcement strategy and policy choices have been brought forward.
