The Strategic Research On Development Of Logistics Of Dalian Port

Modern logistics is an important issue in today's port development. Following the advance of economic globalization and information technology, enterprises are expanding the scope of getting manufacturing materials and marketing the products. Social production, material flow, commodities trading and the way of management are undergoing profound changes. Modern logistics has become an indispensable condition in development of the overall system of transportation and communications, including harbor facilities.During the recent years, Port of Dalian has taken serious exploration and research in establishing and cultivating modern logistics. Some produce of research and practical experience has been acquired, especially in container logistics. However, taking the port as a whole, we are still at the beginning stage. It is necessary to carry out an overall study and programming in developing in development of comprehensive logistics, covering all cargo varieties of the port. By analyzing the comparative advantages and unadaptable factors of Dalian in developing modern logistics, this paper gave a forecast of the future logistics volume in Dalian through mathematic model and market survey. Taking this as the foundation, the paper outlined the goal and strategy of modern logistics development of Port of Dalian and proposed some measures and suggestions in this field. In accordance with the goal and strategy and considering the current situation of harbor facilities, the paper also made a preliminary programming in the distribution of various harbor functions and some related key construction projects.
