The paper analyzs the prevailing water price management institution in China and demonstrates necessity of reforming water price, particularly the influence of water price reform on national economic development from angle of macro-economy. It also conducts the analysis and prediction of possible outcome brought about by water price reform with economic approach.The paper conducts comparison study of water resources management of typical countries focusing on water price system. The paper summarizes the experience and ideas, which water price reform in China may take for reference. Basing on current water resource situation and urgency of water price reform, the paper has a historical review of water price system and policy,points out the existing issues of current water price and proposes corresponding measures.
