The destruction of capitalism and the victory of socialism should be the movement and destination of the society. But the reality is not what some Marxist classical writers expect. Modern capitalism doesn't go downhill, instead, it is developing aggressively while socialism is going through many tortures and is at a low tide. Then how can we understand the essential judgment that those writers give to the capitalism? What changes have taken place to the capitalism? Why will the changes appear? Whether socialism will replace capitalism in the end and communism will be realized? Those are not only what people are paying special attention to, but also new situations and questions before Marxists and should be answered earnestly. On this, the thesis will strengthen our conviction to socialism by revealing capitalistic developing rules.Till today, capitalism has a history of 500 years with four stages: its beginning, its free competition, its monopoly capitalism and moderncapitalism. This thesis briefly introduces its beginning and development, and also analyzes its historic progressive and restrictions in order that we have a better understanding of its new changes and trend of development.Modern capitalism means a new capitalistic stage from general monopoly capitalism to a state one after World War II. It has a basic feature of state monopolization. Different researchers have different summaries to the new changes. Mainly they are four: first, possession tends to socialization; second, economic motion tends to be controlled; third, income tends to be welfares; fourth, the class structure tends to be complicated. It has some subjective and objective causes for those new changes: first, the self-control of capitalist system; second, the continuous spread of state monopolization; third the achievement of working class' fight; fourth, the direction subsequence of revolution of science and technology; fifth, the active effect of socialist victory. In spite of the new changes, the basic feature of capitalism hasn't any change, or at most has partly changed. These changes or partchanges tend to adjust to socialism or foretells it. The basic rules of Marx' capitalist movement is still dominant, and its contradictions are deeper and deeper. It is those contradictions that put the capitalist society forward and also put it to the abyss of crisis.History and reality have proved that it is not merely logic that socialism will replace capitalism, but it is a subjective trend. Those new changes are the readiness for socialism materially, thus capitalism is not farther and farther away from socialism, but nearer and nearer.
