Since the World War II, science and technology and economy have been developing rapidly ali over the world. Hovvever, industrialization and urbanization have brought to the vvorld environmental pollution, life intension and constrain more than comfortable life except for material enjovment. In order to escape from chaotic cities, breathe fresh air, the people chose to go back to the nature. Ecotourism, vvhich appeared in 1980s, met the people's need for clear ecoenvironment. After 20 vear's development, ecotourism has become a popular tourism, a life fashion. But the theoretical research on ecotourism fali?behind the practice. At present there lacks svstematic theories and study methods. With the transformation of domestic tourism market from solders-orientating to buyers-orientating, experts have paid more attention to the research on tourist behavior and tourism market, among which the most important is to analyze tourist demands and tourism source market. Tourist demands means the quantity and quality of tourism products and service that tourist want to buy at different prié‘• levels. Factors that affect tourist demands include objective and subjective ones. Subjective factors means tourists' psychology, such as needs and motives; objective ones means social and economic conditions at tourists source areas. Tourism products and its prices at tourists destinations; Subjective factors are a prerequisite for objective ones. Tourist source market is the narrovv sense understanding of tourism market. Internal structure, time structure and special structure make up the three-dimensional structure of tourist source market. The market background of tourist source areas and tourist behavior should be included in the investigation and analysis of tourist source market, for vvhich sampling survey is the main method. Based on the statistical analysis of datum obtained from on-the-spot tour inspection of more than 10 national forestry parks and nature protecting areas, the paper summarizes the basic characteristics of domestic ecotourist market: most of ecotourists are male in gender; middle-aged and young in age; administrative personnel and government functionary in occupation; the main motive of ecotourists is to go back to the nature and enjoy the environment. Monthly salary per person of ecotourists is 2358. lyuan; average expenditure per person at tourism destinations is 3251.5yuan, most of which is necessary expenditure.
