An Inquiry Into Israel's Pattern Of Economic Modernization

In this thesis , I study Israel's pattern of economic modernization from the visual angle of overall inspection in the international political and economic field . I attempt to reveal the causes of Israel's economic success by describing , generalizing , summarizing the course and the practice of Israel's economic modernization and to find out the experience which is greatly and directly significative for developing countries . The thesis includes five parts :According to economic strategy emphasises in different periods , the first part divides the evolution of Israel's economic modernization into the agriculture leading pattern stage , the formative stage of intensive economic growth pattern , the regulation of state owned economy structure and the deepenning of trade liberalization stage .The part also analyses the formative course and characteristics of all stages .The second part analyses such main factors as nature factors , culture factors and politics factors , which influence Israel to select its economic modernization pattern .The third part generalizes six characteristics of Israel's pattern of economic modernization , namely , public ownership leading economic development , science and technology as forerunner and motive force of economy , external assistance economy . wartime economy , immigrant economy , and so on .The fourth part analyses the obstacles of Israel's economic modernization .The fifth part generalizes the experiences of the pattern of Israel's economy , and considers the experiences is of directly significance for developing countries .In brief , this thesis builds the basic structure of the pattern of Israel's economic modernization by describing the course of Israel's economic development , generalizing its problems , summarizing its experiences . The experiences of the pattern of Israel's economic modernization is of universal significance and can be referred by developing countries .
