The rapid development of electronic business (E桞usiness) has brought about a fast梞oving business environment, resulting in profound changes in competitive strategies. This thesis focuses on analyzing the changing directions of competitive strategies in a context of e梑usiness applications. Results shows limitations of the current theories of competitive strategies, which is largely based on the theory of industrial organization (10), in light of an environment characterized by accelerated innovations and increasing complexities. Accordingly, modifications on the current theories are called for. By combining a number of recent advances in strategic management research, such as the co梠petition theory, the resourced梑ased view and the simplified strategic rules research, this thesis proposes a comprehensive framework for strategic analysis in the environment of e梑usiness applications.
