In 1952, financial leasing came into being in USA, and then it has beendeveloping rapidly globally By 1996, financia1 leasing has been regarded asthe second most imPortant financial way in funding just next to credit loans,and seen as the "morning-sun industry". Financial leasing was introduced toour country in l98l and it developed quickly during the l980's. However, atthe beginning of l990's,this industry experienced troubles with businessfalling gradually. Why does the so-called "morning-sun industry" abroadalmost become a "foundling" in our country? The purpose of this thesis istrying to explore if there are any more needs and possibilities fOr thedevelopment about financial leasing in our country. Moreovef, after taking aresearch into the current status and existing problems at this industry, itattemPts to introduce some ideas fOr the industry's further development.By using the ways such as theory investigation, demonstration analysisand statistical analysis, this thesis first discusses the essential character andfunctions of financial leasing and closely links it with current economic statusof our country. Then by manifesting the urgent needs in our country, this thesispoints out that the industry of financial leasing will have a prosperous visionand have chances of going a second upturn in China. Through a profoundstudy of the current sitUation and history the thesis analyses the causes of thetroubles and difficulties in the indusny. Based on the above study suggestionsare put forward on how to accelerate, mainly in four ways, the industry'sprogress.The thesis is useful for properly understanding the function and role offinancial leasing industry in our country, and fOr exploring the existingproblems at the industry. Meanwhile, the countermeasures and suggestions webring have practical value because we stress on the innovation and feasibility.
