Writing On Sex In Jelinek's Novel

Austrian writer Elfriede Jelinek is the winner of the 2004 Nobel Prize of Literature. Since she started her career in 1970s, Jelinek has always been in the storm of critiques due to the strong criticism, negative spirit in her novels and her writing style which shocked the whole world, especially lots of her writings on sex. In China, fewer scholars carried research on Jelinek and slide away from the writings on sex in her novels. Normal readers have prejudice against her, they even combines her writings of sex with pornography, which lead to the phenomenon of misreading and misunderstanding to her novels.Jelinek has been very concerned about the fate and survival status of women. She chose all kinds of oppression and violence that women suffered in sexual activities and the entry point. At the same time, she strengthened the tragic fate of women right in a male community through the failure caused by female resistance against male oppressions. Thus, her critiques was right towards the depth of social civilization.This paper selected Jelinek's novel as study object, and her writings of sexual behaviors and relations as starting point, trying to unveil the veil of the naked nature of sex, probing into the struggle between genders hidden in the writings on sex while her writing idea of anti-power and anti-pornography through interpretation of the writings on sex in Jelinek's novels, and helps to understand Jelinek's novels in a correct way.This paper consists 5 parts. The first part combed the works of Jelinek and the research status home and abroad, and advanced the theme of paper and relevant contents. The second part overviewed her writings on sex and different condition of genders in sexual activities. The third part discussed the war between genders fighting for the right of discourse. The fourth part discussed Jelinek's writing style of anti-power and anti-pornography, further analyzed her humanistic care of women's self-redemption through the study of Jelinek's writing on sex, and advanced the idea of the end-result of women's self-redemption is women's occupation of sexual right. The fifth part summarized relevant topics of the paper, and pointed out the meanings for us of Jelinek's writing on sex.In short, the paper took the writing style of layer-by-layer discussion, deeply studied Jelinek's writings on sex combining relevant theory of feminism and Foucault's theory of the right of discourse,divided the boundaries between writings on sex and writings of pornography, and helps to understand the real value of Jelinek's novels...
