Abstract/Summary:
By using the semi-structured interview, the research investigates ch'iang's psychological rehabilitation and restoration one year after the massive Wenchuan earthquake, and conducts a qualitative study to research the ch'iang's cultural factors in the resilience. The result indicates that :(1) after the earthquake, the people's main stress resistance comes from four aspects, those are the shelter recovery, removing of the whole family, changes of the ecosystem and their children's education fees, among which the shelter recovery and children's education fees are referred most; (2) most of the ch'iang have their own spiritual beliefs. There're the positive and negative effects on the resilience of ch'iang people after the earthquake, which depend on their religious beliefs and understanding of religion. (3) maintain the level of cultural influences the formation of resilience. ch'iang people of different regions and ages have differenet level of preservation of their traditional culture. the remote villages that are far away from the town or the main transportation lines maintain its traditional culture better than other villages; the old are more familiar with the ch'iang's mental culture than the young; (4) the social support played a positive role in resilience; the original social support system has changed after the earthquake: national support plays a important role when mutual aid from the neighbor is reducing; appropriately social support is more effective than the direct welfare; (5) the manners of acculturation impact on the resilience. There are:a. people who do not only insist on their traditional language and value, but also learn the principle and standard of the new culture ; b. people those who just focus on traditional factors ; c. people those who just focus on the new factors .
