| With the rapid development of Chinese economy and continuous improvement of reform and opening-up policy, China is speeding up her process to the outside world and an increasing number of Chinese cosmetics start to enter the international market. Meanwhile, with the competition in cosmetics brand getting fiercer, cosmetic companies are sparing no effort to market their products. Cosmetic instruction is like a name card. If Chinese cosmetics intend to wedge into the global market, the translation of their instructions can not be ignored. However, far from satisfaction, the current translation quality is poor, which has to be highly emphasized. In terms of the study on the translation of cosmetic instruction, many studies have been made before, but it is rare to see the studies on the achievement of interpersonal equivalence in the translation of cosmetic instruction from the perspective of Systemic-functional Grammar. On the basis of the previous achievements in this field and Halliday's Systemic-functional Grammar, the author proposes the theoretical framework of this thesis under which this thesis summarizes the language features of foreign cosmetic instruction, analyzes the achievement of interpersonal equivalence in the translation of cosmetic instruction and puts forward the corresponding translation strategies. Through analysis, it is found out that the proper selection of the subject, tense, modality and adjunct plays a significant role in successfully translating Chinese cosmetic instruction, and with the skillful use of lexico-grammatical resources, interpersonal equivalence between original text and target text of cosmetic instruction can be better fulfilled. |
