Taiwan movies were described as"dead"after 2000 (in terms of quantity, quality and box office), however, the appearance of Cape No.7, Monga and films alike, which have made high box office and deep impacts, triggered a wave of teen films, also the so-called"too-much generation". This paper tries to review the brilliant achievements and artistic style of the Taiwan movies in the last century through grasping the current events, and describing the future development of Taiwan by summarizing those movies' narrative theme and aesthetic style in the 21st century.The first chapter summed up the past and present situation of Taiwan movies. From the uniqueness of its region and culture, to the new movies and the even new movies' aesthetic style, this part introduced the current status of the "too-much generation" and analyzed Taiwan movies in the 21st century.The second and third chapter, post-colonialism, collective anxiety and the absence of patriarchy were basically used to grasp the narrative theme of Taiwan movies in the 21st century. Through the author style, Video style, camera language and typical characters to unscramble the aesthetic style of Taiwan movies. Through the concrete interpretation of some films, more connotation of Taiwan film spirit was deeply analyzed.The last chapter looks forward to the trending of cooperation. The development in the future was predict by comparing the development between "too-much generation" and new films.This paper attempts to layered analysis Taiwan movies from the surface phenomenon to the connotation, to grasp the influence by political, economic and historical background in Taiwan more comprehensively. Films of Taiwan youth theme is full of anxiety and confused hidden behind, and the discovering of its outlet and transfer recently.
