Ceramic arts is a combination of profiling and decoration which has a glorious history of more than 7000 years, It is the fruit of science and art in human civilization. As for the ceramic decoration arts, on hand ,it belongs to the field of ceamic profiling, on the other hand, it is a relatvely independent art form.Ceramic decoration arts has a varity of ways to present themselvs in techniques and artistic style . The artistic presenting technique of traditional Chinese painting has a great impact on ceramic decoration during its development . In periods of Ming and Qing Dynasty ,traditional Chinese painting got mature from its subjects to the presenting technique , especilly the literati paintings which became highly mature at this time . Artists of this period made full use of the advantage of ceramic arts , and by learning from and taking in the excellent presenting technique of traditional Chinese painting , they created all kinds of ceramic arts which have promoted the development of ceramic arts . The combination of traditional Chinese painting's art from and ceramic decoration was well reflected through them . During the process of this combination, the art of traditional Chinese painting developed and formed a unique ceramic decorative language. For example , influenced by Palace painting in Chenghua period. Ming Dynasty came Chenghua Doucai, under the inflence of Yun Shouping's flower and plants theme painting in the early period of Qing Dynasty there was Yong zheng famille rose . In late Qing Dynasty , the emergence of the light crimson coloured ceramic decoration was inflenced by landscape painting. Besides ,the composition , the use of ink and the profiling of the traditional Chinese painting also have some impact on ceramic decoration . This essay mainly analyzes the influence of traditional Chinese painting on ceramic decoration in Ming and Qing Dynasty with the use of retrospective, survey and contract method . According to the different styles of tradional Chinese painting and ceramic decoration , it further explores and analyzes their impact from different aspect . During the study as a post-graduate and in the process of the research , the author refered to a large number of literature, visted major museums and made a comparison between ceramic arts of Ming and Qing Dynasty , thus received a lot of first-hand information and enlightment .
