Preliminary Discussion To The Development Of The Study Of Chinese Ancient Capitals And The "Great Ancient Capital" Academic Problem

The Study of Chinese Ancient Capitals had been formally established in the 20th century, early 80s. It had gained great developments and made tremendous research achievements in the last nearly 30 years. The relevant research of "Great Ancient Capital" was the research hotspot in the development of the Study of Chinese Ancient Capitals.Given the fact that there is insufficient research on history of the study of Chinese ancient capitals, this article based on the historical geographical documents, and guided under the research briefs of Modern Scholars, to summarize the history of the study of Chinese ancient capitals tentatively by comparing the analysis. Then, the article analyzed the origins, processes, and the focus question of the academic argument of the "Great Ancient Capital", and research the problem of "Great Ancient Capital" concretely, by means of combination of theoretic analysis and case analysis, commonness and specialty, as well as comparison on some assumes, in the form of integration of documents study, comprehensive survey and field trips.Conclusion of the study:the Anyang city can not be known as the "Great Ancient Capital" as the continuation of the Ye city, because they both are two different ancient capitals, that is the focal point of the "Great Ancient Capital" academic debate; however, the Anyang city could be called "Great Ancient Capital" if it had been seen as the continuation of the "Yin Xu" ruins, together with the Zhengzhou city. Then, the paper had proposed the "Nature of Great Ancient Capital", and derived the seventh and eighth great ancient capital have the same "Nature of Great Ancient Capital" by analyzing these history and geography background, which different with the other six great ancient capitals'. Therefore, this paper further put forward a sound that is making the systematization of "Great Ancient Capital" more perfect, in order to stratify "Eight Great Ancient Capitals" more reasonable. What's more, this paper summarized the Mr. Chen Qiaoyi's contribution for the development of study of Chinese ancient capitals. At last, combining with the current hot research content of the Study of Chinese Ancient Capitals, the paper approached the research's trend of the Study of Chinese Ancient Capitals.
