In the 21st century with the development of diversity and internationalization, English plays more and more active role in the exchange of various languages as the international communication. English globalization brings about English localization all over the world. Due to the appearance of various English variants, English has never belonged to certain nation so that the culture it reflects is not only the culture of English-speaking countries but the world's culture. During the Western countries rely on their strong comprehensive strength to carry out the cultural infiltration to the Third World, the people of the Third World can't establish the cultural identity to their own culture. Along with the development of China's reform and opening-up, Chinese people, especially the young men, are crazy about English learning, Western festivals and new things. The Chinese Culture Aphasia, namely, incapability to express Chinese culture in any language but the native language can be found everywhere. Since the Chinese Culture Aphasia in College English Teaching in China was raised in 2000, many scholars have carried out the systemic investigations on this theme. However, there are still some problems that can't be overall studied or focused. The early studies mainly focused on testing students'capabilities of translating vocabularies on Chinese culture, but ignored the investigation into their grasp of Chinese cultural knowledge. The contents involved in the investigation were mainly the narrow culture, without studying the mastery of broad culture. Whether Chinese culture was contained in English classroom teaching was always the key point of early studies, however, it is necessary to study the proportion of Chinese culture in extracurricular learning and examination, the attitude of college students and English teachers toward the Chinese Culture Aphasia existing in college English teaching as well as their expectation of improvement and so forth. In addition, former researches never compared the mastery of Chinese cultural knowledge and the capabilities of interpreting Chinese culture among English majors, non-English majors and English teachers. According to the Chinese Culture Aphasia, educators raised effective methods to deal with this phenomenon which are not systematical or targeted. Meanwhile, there is no concrete demonstration of using the relevant teaching approaches to overcome the Chinese Culture Aphasia during the English language education. In this thesis, the condition that the college students and English teachers master the Chinese culture, translate the Chinese culture into English as well as the attitude they hold toward the present situation of Chinese Culture Aphasia existing in English teaching in China and their expection of improving that situation are investigated in terms of A Survey of Chinese Culture recommended by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. The results demonstrate that the tested college students master the Chinese culture well, but have lots of difficulties in translating that into English. However, the tested college English teachers are not proficient in the translation of certain parts of Chinese culture. The phenomenon Chinese Culture Aphasia is due mainly to the lack of Chinese culture in college English teaching. Both the college students and the English teachers hold enough confidence and expectation of improving that situation. To deal with the common problems existing in the Chinese cultural teaching of college English education nowadays, the author claims that the incorporation of Chinese culture into college English teaching should adhere to certain principles and choose the essential part of Chinese culture on the basis of analysizing the results of the former investigation and summarizing numerous scholars'relevant teaching strategies. They are the effective teaching strategies to prepare reasonable syllabus, improve teachers'comprehensive quality, cultivate students'correct Chinese and Western values, choose appropriate teaching materials, use the effective teaching approaches, arrange the colourful after-class activities and design the targeted tests in order to overcome the phenomenon Chinese Culture Aphasia in college English education in China. In the meantime, the author chooses the College English Integrated Course arranged for non-English students to demonstrate the above teaching strategies concretely. The author looks forward to displaying the present situation that the phenomenon Chinese Culture Aphasia exists to attract numerous educators'concern and listing the practical teaching strategies to make a little contribution to overcoming the phenomenon Chinese Culture Aphasia in college English education in China.
