Xingshi Yan is an outstanding collection of novels in the MingDynasty. Composed by Lu Renlong.The languageof xingshiyan to the vernacular-based, Basic overview can be seen in Chinese Ming and Qing Dynasties.This book had been unknown for more than 300 years,since the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. The discovery of Xingshi Yan is a significant event of vernacular novel research in recent years. It provides the new and massive language material as the powerful foundation for us to study the Ming Dynasty Chinese. Currently, the specialized research of Xing shi Yan Modal particle is not too much.We systematic study the Modal particle of XingshiYan in this paper,attempts to play some degree of fill part of the role of overview the development of modal particles in the late Ming and the development of Chinese modal particle.The paper covers the following three parts:First chapter: Introduction. Divided into three sections: the first section includes the Introduction of Xingshiyan and the author, gammatical rsearch of Xingshiyan in recently, the research method and the based on version in this paper. Section II:overview of modal particles,includes study of Ancient Chinese modal particle, mood in Modern Chinese Words, the study of modern Chinese modal particle. Section III is defined: explain the view we select in the paperand why we select this view and the legend.The second chapter:the study of modal particle in Xingshiyan.Divided three parts:the first part is analysis the ten classical modal particles in Xingshiyan like Yan(焉),Er(尔),Ye(也),Yi(矣),Hu(乎),Zai(哉.),Ye耶(邪),Yu(欤),ErYi(而已),the second part is analysis the eleven modern modal particles in Xingshiyan like De(的),Le(了),Ba(罢),Mo(么), Li(哩), Ne(呢), A(呵) ,Ya(呀),Lai(来), BaLe(罢了),BianLe(便了) ;the third part is analysis the used of union modal words in Xingshiyan.According the studying,we analysis each usage of each word.Each part we statistics in list firstly,includs sentence types for the words,modal of the word expression, the frequency of the words,after that, detailed analysis every word and the percentage share of total for each word.The third is the last part of the paper. Through comparatively exhaustive investigation and analysis,we find out ,though,as a historical period of the development of Chinese language,Marriages toawaken theWorld has obvious quality of transition.Although it has some classical modal particles, used in a narrow range; the main usage of everyday modal particles employed in standard Chinese had already been formed in the main. The distribution of some modal particles is not in proportion to numbers of chapters in the book.Some modal particles just begun, some very completely.
