Psychomotor, a theory built on the bases of German traditional psychology, therapy and education soul, rose in the early 20th century in Germany. As an integration of physical dysfunction treatment and comprehensive psychological therapy for the emotional, spiritual and psychological status, it uses the media of movement and activities to develop children's independence, extend children's ability in social communication and promote the overall physical and psychological development of children. At present, there is no systematic study on this theory system in China. This thesis attempts to discuss and analyze the background, development process, school, the core concepts of psychomotor and its influence on German society in the hope to provide a new theoretical and research perspective for China's preschool teachers.This thesis consists of five parts. Introduction describes the origins and the significance of this thesis by comparing and analyzing the new and old evaluation guidelines for domestic preschool education.The second part introduces the historical background and methodology of the source of psychomotor in Germany. Psychomotor rose in the middle of the new education movement, greatly affected by the theory of personality and individual freedom of children. The methodology of psychomotor originates in the cognitive theory, rhythmics and rehabilitation education.The third part describes the development history and schools of psychomotor, its core concepts such as self- identity and self- concept, functions of games in emotional movement, and illustrates the diagnosis of psychomotor with examples.The fourth part analyzes the applications of psychomotor in Germany in the preschool education, kindergarten and parents communities.The final part evaluates the influence and significance of psychomotor in the society of Germany.
