In modern times, "science" is a word which has been yearned for and held in. "Science" has been dubbed the name of "truth" and stood for "western science". Science was equated with western, and western science was the only route of scientific understanding. The local knowledge from different cultural backgrounds was excluded from the "science", and was called by "superstition" and "Witchcraft". Chinese Medicine would have faced this dilemma that "Chinese medicine is or not a scientific".The controversy continued over a hundred years. In the strong pressure from western science, Chinese Medicine endangered several times. However, Chinese Medicine has not been replaced eventually, but brought out the powerful vitality and independency in the late 20th century. Chinese Medicine is not only a challenge to modern science, but also a shaking to the so-called orthodox scientific concepts. This Paper first discussed the understanding of "science" and Chinese Medicine in the traditional scientific view. It pointed out:in the traditional view of science, science has the characteristics of objectivity and truth, and Chinese Medicine was excluded from the scientific research. With the development of science, especially the "paradigm" concept put forward by Kuhn, the traditional scientific development met a fatal blow. At this point, in the sociology of science, the traditional view was re-positioning and re-thinking. The uniqueness, truth, objectivity of western science were generally questioned by scholars. Science was developed from a monistic to a pluralistic science. In this context, there is the possibility of research on Chinese medicine from a scientific perspective. Thus, this paper has Fu Shan as the research object. It is another system of thought which different from "western science". Meanwhile, from the Fu Shan's complete, systematic thinking about theoretical system of medicine, and Fu Shan's spirit of exploring the truth, Fu Shan also should be called a local scientist!...
