On the basis of comprehensive analysis of the《stories of immortals》and the previous research results, this paper systematically discussed the Shinto concept of Kan Pao. In chapter 1, the achievements and the shortcomings of《stories of immortals》were summarized via classifying a lot of investment literature. For chapter 2, the effect of primitive religious consciousness on the Shinto concept of Kan Pao presented the faith awareness of animism and the primitive religion in the form of naturism, ghost worship and manism as well as phallicism, respectively. Chapter 3 showed the effects of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism on the Shinto concept of Kan Pao. The Shinto concept of Kan Pao was discussed in the following characteristics:(1) traditional virtue and classical works as well as telepathy between humans and nature of Confucianism; (2) alchemy, immortal and Taoist of Taoism; (3) comeuppance and hell transmigration of Buddhism. In chapter 4, the reasons of the Shinto concept of Kan Pao were elaborated in terms of politics, culture, social context as well as the characteristic of Kan Pao, respectively. The fifth chapter investigated the effect of Shinto concept of Kan Pao on the literary conception of《stories of immortals》from the aspect of ideological tendency, selection and framework. Based on the horizontal analysis and the longitudinal series of the preceding chapters, the last chapter located the Shinto concept of Kan Pao.
