The artistic graphics in Chu culture are the concentrated cream of Chu's visual art which was refined from Chu culture. There are a great variety of Chu art pattern which are all extracted from social life and the nature and then interpreted, symbolized, regularized and then patterned by the ancient skilled craftsmen who assembled the lines, the facet, the structure and the colour. On the one hand, the artistic graphics in Chu culture inherited the old tradition of Shang&Zhou dynasty, on the other hand, they adopted the local necromancy culture which made Chu art full of Chu custom character.Because of the Zeitgeist, the locale feature and the local custom, people in Chu has formed a flexible aesthetics standard besides magnificent work of art. The creation style is unrestricted and romantic, the ornamentation lines are flowing and flexible, the sculpt of creatures are bizarre and mysterious, the colour is ardent and flowery, the material is all-inclusive rangs from universe to plants, the spirit of Chu art has survived generation after generation.The thesis concerns on the artistic graphics in Chu culture. The purpose is to assort them and to sum up their sculpt feature and the ways of artistic expression and then to try to find Chu art's cultural connotation, spiritual meaning and aesthetic character by combining the extrinsic artistic graphics with the social life and culture background in Chu during Spring and Autumn and the Warring States Periods.
