| From the perspective of world history and the modernization process, how Jews, as a nation and an ancient civilization that has long been spreading out to the world, meet the challenges of value applicable to all which stems from modernity and adapt to it, has great significance to many other nations struggling in the process of modernization. Jewish culture has its presence at many turns in modern human history because Jews have long been seen as a force of anti-secularization and they have inspired anti-Semitism many times for different reasons. This thesis intends to analyze the historical role of Jewishness in the shaping and spreading of value applicable to all and the influence of Jewish culture on the change of modern political systems.The first chapter deals with the relationship between Jews and modernity, for modernity is regarded to be the driving force and theoretical background of value applicable to all. This chapter will analyze the fate of the Jewish nation and its religious future under modernity based on a historical examination of Jewish question since modern times.Western history and thought is an important reference to the reflection on Jewish culture and helps with an exploration of its past and present from a comparative point of view. Along that line, the second chapter discusses Jewish culture's resistance and supplement to value applicable to all.The third chapter analyzes the involvement of the Jewish nation and Jewish culture in the modern boom of nation states in the political landscape. |
