| The saddle culture is the key part of the north nomad traditional culture, as well as the important fields of the research on the grassland culture, and the inheritance and witness of the exchanging and integrating of the international nomadic culture. Traditional Mongolian harness which is as an important part of the saddle culture has aroused widespread concern. But the study on the traditional Mongolian harness by both Chinese and foreign scholars have still stayed in the superficial area of the books, and they lack of researching in the practical application of workmanship and aesthetics on harness.This paper deals with detailed,deeply and systematically investigating on the traditional harness and its decorating process ,which produced by the nomad in their daily life .The research includes investigating on the items from collections of both museum and private , collecting many traditional Mongolian harness, using the method of oral records of cultural anthropology,measuring in field,sorting out documents,comparing pictures.Traditional Mongolian harness with exquisite works, diverse models, and formed its unique style. Using the methods of arts and crafts and the aesthetic, this paper has discussed mainly in three fields :the classification,the production process and the decorative pattern .It classifies from life, celebration, race, generation, region, quality of materials, crafts and modeling, etc.; It expresses the production process with the traditional harness materials and fabrication process in words; it determines the adorning and shaping effect of the pattern to the traditional harness from the perspective of aesthetics. |
