Vocabulary is the most active and vigorous part in language, and pronunciation, spelling, grammar and translation have close relationship with vocabulary, so vocabulary penetrates into every aspect of language. We emphasize listening, speaking, reading, and writing these several basic skills in learning, but they cannot be separated from vocabulary. Without certain vocabulary, when you listen to people, you couldn't understand each other; while reading, vocabulary influences the understanding of the text; while writing articles, you can not find the proper words to communicate. There is nothing new of the phenomenon of using the wrong words. It is clear that vocabulary learning relates directly to a person's English level. The exchange of human thought is realized by sentences composed of words. Any language without vocabulary is unimaginable. Many college students feel the pressure of vocabulary on the first day of entering the foreign language class. Facing a series of heavy learning tasks related to vocabulary mastering, such as enlarging the vocabulary, improving the using level and so on, some students are impatient and some are confused. Due to lack of proper guidance, many students just brace themselves and swallow to learn the vapid foreign words by note. As a result, regardless of wasting a lot of time and effort, the efficiency is low. Therefore, how to help the students obtain foreign language vocabulary and improve the efficiency of learning foreign language is the original intention of this paper. This paper aims to put forward a feasible method of learning English words by applying the theoretical research achievements of modern stylistics based on the syllabus of National Graduate Admission Test (Non-English Majors). This paper combines the classification with the syllabus of National Graduate Admission Test (Non-English Majors) and reclassifies the vocabulary. Besides, examples and diagrams will be used when necessary. If the reader can grasp the words of each category, it will be easier and more effective to remember the words, thus enlarge his vocabulary more quickly and effectively.
